Moving away from home is very challenging because of the numerous things, memories, and people you would miss from your home country. Even Rizal himself had experienced the feeling of homesickness and loneliness. His stay in Berlin during the winter of 1886 would be one of Rizal's lowest points in his life as he struggles with poverty alone and away from home. In even one of his works, "To The Flowers of Heidelberg,"' Rizal expresses the feeling of homesickness as the countryside scenery of the flowers he saw in Heidelberg, Germany reminded him of home.

Surely there are many things we'll miss from our home country! Here were the answers of our fellow Filipinos!

Rizal had traveled to places far and wide, learning multiple languages, seeing beautiful sights and sceneries, experiencing diverse cultures, and even meeting different people, yet he never forgot the Philippines, the place he would call home. Just as our national hero embraced his identity, we as Filipinos must also embrace our own because our identity is what makes us unique from the world having our own set of values, traditions, customs, and history that tells us who we are.

So don't be afraid of going places around the world! Taste any food! Work or study abroad! But never forget who you are and where you came from. You are a Filipino!
